Tim has always been surrounded by horses from a young age having started out his competitive equestrian career on the Working Hunter ponies. Having sampled great success to which he can credit several wonderful ponies, his determination to jump bigger fences and compete at higher levels made it time to move on, and thus began the start of Tim’s show jumping career. He regards himself as being very fortunate to have been guided and trained by world class horseman and trainers. Tim’s main mentor has been Steven Smith, who was instrumental in Tim’s rapid rise to success, and continues to be an invaluable help. He has also learnt an enormous amount from the former World Champion, Jos Lansink, who is based in Belgium and where Tim has gone to train from time to time. Tim operates his stables Unex Competition Yard, which is based in London and also competes in Florida during winter. He is a very accomplished rider, and particpated with the UK Team at the European Championships of Milan 2023 or Aachen World Equestrian Games in 2006.
