The 2025 edition will be remembered for years to come: welcoming over 48,500 spectators in just four days here in La Baule is an immense source of pride. I warmly thank the City, the Department, the Region, and of course Rolex — without their unwavering support, none of this would be possible. Once again, Grégory Bodo delivered a true masterpiece, speaking to the riders through his courses and reaching the pinnacle of his art today. Congratulations to the three podium riders, with a special nod to René Lopez: we may not have had a French victory, but we had the most French of Colombians. This competition is magical, not only because it brings together the world’s best riders, but because it is built on human values, loyalty, and passion. Thanks to all of you, we continue to write the history of international show jumping together.
This victory holds a special meaning for the entire team. Otello was exceptional. In recent months, he had already achieved impressive wins at 1.50 m, but this was his very first Grand Prix 5. We are all extremely proud. Going last gave me an advantage: I knew exactly what I needed to do. I was still unsure about the strides between fences 1 and 2 and at the entrance to the double, but after seeing McLain’s round, everything became clear: I had to take out a stride to the double. I’m thrilled that Otello thought the same — he understood perfectly and followed me flawlessly. It’s an incredible feeling.
