Sergio stated riding when he was very young with his brothers because of his uncles love of horses. In 2001 he won the European Championships as a Junior then in 2003, he decided that to further progress in his riding career he needed to move to Belgium. He stayed there for 6 years and developed himself as a respected rider before returning to Spain and basing himself with his brother in La Coruña. He now runs his own stables in Madrid, with his show rider Ismael Garcia Roque, they both compete at the best level of the sport and represented Spain in Paris Olympics 2024.
