The final CSI5* class before Sunday's Rolex Grand Prix Ville de Dinard delivered another thrilling contest on the iconic Val Porée grass arena. The Prix Key Player (1.50m), contested against the clock under Table A, brought together 31 combinations, with only six riders producing faultless performances.

France's Julien Épaillard was first into the arena aboard Fringan de Vesquerie, but a single rail kept the home favourite from setting the early benchmark. That honour instead went to Mexico's Nicolás Pizarro, who guided Chacalua Blue PS to the first clear round of the afternoon in 73.99 seconds.

The pace of the competition changed dramatically only moments later when Julien Anquetin produced an outstanding round aboard Farah Tame, shaving more than ten seconds off the leading time to stop the clock at 63.01 seconds. His lead was immediately challenged by Gudrun Patteet, whose impressive clear aboard Sea Coast Chica V.V. Z came within fractions of a second, crossing the finish line in 63.17 seconds. Belgium's Annelies Vorsselmans also joined the list of fault-free combinations with C. Kulottie W Z, before Dutch rider Willem Greve completed another clear round aboard Cero Blue TN.

However, it was Ben Maher who ultimately proved untouchable. Riding Ginger Blue, the British Olympic champion delivered the fastest clear round of the class in 62.16 seconds, taking victory in the final CSI5* competition before the weekend's showpiece event.

With many of the leading contenders for Sunday's Rolex Grand Prix Ville de Dinard once again demonstrating excellent form, the stage is now set for an exceptional conclusion to the fifth event of the 2026 Rolex Series.
