CIAN O’CONNOR AIMS FOR NATIONS CUP GLORY AND ROLEX GRAND PRIX OF IRELAND SUCCESS IN DUBLIN

For Irish show jumper Cian O’Connor, the RDS Dublin Horse Show holds a special place in his heart. As Dublin prepares to host the next event of the Rolex Series 2025, O’Connor is ready to take on the world’s best — with family, pride, and a winning mindset.

“It’s the event I look forward to every year,” says O’Connor. “Being based in Ireland, the RDS Dublin Horse Show is the perfect showcase for Karlswood stables, and it’s extra special this year because I’ll be sharing the experience with my family. Both Ben and Cara, my children, are competing, so that makes it even more meaningful.”

With his sights firmly set on Sunday’s Rolex Grand Prix of Ireland, O’Connor has been carefully preparing his top mount, Iron Man. “The Grand Prix is certainly a big goal of mine,” he explains. “Iron Man has had a month of rest and feels in great form. He was second in the Rolex Grand Prix of Rome at Piazza di Siena, and he’s had a strong summer with podium finishes in Fontainebleau and Ocala. We’re aiming for a peak performance in Dublin.”

Before the Rolex Grand Prix of Ireland, O’Connor will also lead the charge for Team Ireland in Friday’s Nations Cup of Ireland, riding Bentley De Sury. “The Nations Cup is always a huge event for us, especially on home soil,” he adds. “The Irish team is strong and motivated — we’re determined to retain the Nations Cup title in front of our home crowd.”

O’Connor is quick to highlight the impact of the Rolex Series on the sport. “The Rolex Series is undoubtedly the best events in the world. The shows are fantastic, the competition is world-class, and the prize money and following reflect its prestige. It’s an honor for Dublin to be part of this label, standing alongside the most legendary venues globally.”
