This Sunday, all eyes will be on Falsterbo Horse Show, as the iconic Swedish venue hosts the Rolex Grand Prix presented by Agria — a highlight of the summer circuit, and now part of the prestigious Rolex Series.
Among the most anticipated riders on the start list is Sweden’s own Rolf-Göran Bengtsson, a living legend and three-time winner of the Falsterbo Grand Prix. For him, riding here is always a matter of pride and emotion:
“Of course, it’s fantastic to win the Grand Prix here. I’ve done it three times already — and winning in front of your own crowd, that’s very, very special. Falsterbo has such a fantastic atmosphere. It’s a great show, really.”
This year, Rolf is competing with Caillan, a 10-year-old Holsteiner gelding by Casall x Carry 22. While relatively green at this level, Caillan has already shown his talent — placing 6th in Thursday’s CSIO5* Grand Prix qualifier presented by Trikem (1.50m).
“It’s going to be a big test for him. He’s never jumped this high before, but he’s a talented horse. The goal is to give him experience over the big fences without putting on too much pressure.”
Despite his own experience, Rolf approaches this new challenge with humility:
“Tomorrow I’m a bit of a beginner again in this class. I hope to do a good round and help my horse grow.”
At Falsterbo — with its vibrant seaside crowd and world-class sporting spirit — every ride becomes a memory. And now, with the Rolex Series shining a global spotlight on the event, the stage is set for another unforgettable Grand Prix, where experience meets ambition and home support makes all the difference.
