The 100th edition of the CSIO Roma Piazza di Siena will welcome some of the world’s leading riders to the Italian capital, with an exceptional international field set to compete throughout the week.
Brazil arrives in Rome with Yuri Mansur, winner of the 2025 Rolex Gran Premio Roma, returning with one clear ambition: to defend his title. He is joined by Olympic champion Rodrigo Pessoa, Martinengo Marquet, ninth in the 2025 Rolex Gran Premio Roma, alongside Emanuele Camilli, Emanuele Gaudiano, Giampiero Garofalo and Piergiorgio Bucci.
Germany brings a formidable team led by reigning European champion and world No. 3 Richard Vogel, fresh from victory in the Rolex Grand Prix of Aachen this past weekend, alongside Sophie Hinners and Christian Ahlmann.
France is represented by world No. 6 Nina Mallevaey, one of the brightest rising stars in international show jumping, alongside Marie Demonte, Mégane Moissonnier and Nicolas Sers.
Austria will rely on Max Kühner, one of the sport’s leading international riders.
The nations represented in the Intesa squad featuring Joseph Stockdale, Jack Whitaker, Adrian Whiteway, as well as Jessica Mendoza.
Belgium brings one of the most exciting teams of the competition, with reigning European team champion Thibeau Spits alongside world No. 5 Gilles Thomas, European team gold medallist and individual bronze medallist at the European Championships in La Coruña, European champion Nicola Philippaerts, as well as rising talent Emilie Conter, European team gold medallist.
Ireland also arrives with a strong line-up featuring Denis Lynch, Cian O’Connor, runner-up in the 2025 Rolex Gran Premio Roma, and 21-year-old Tom Wachman, one of the sport’s most promising young talents.
The United States team features Olympic champion and world No. 11 Laura Kraut, winner of the 2025 Rolex Grand Prix of Dublin, adding further star power to the field assembled in Rome.
Mexico also returns to the Nations Cup in Rome this year, adding another strong nation to the exceptional international line-up expected at the CSIO Roma Piazza di Siena.
The nations represented in the Intesa Sanpaolo Nations Cup are Belgium, Brazil, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Sweden and the United States.
THE ROAD TO THE ROLEX GRAN PREMIO ROMA
Throughout the week, riders will compete for one of the 45 qualifying places available for Sunday’s Rolex Gran Premio Roma, the highlight of the CSIO Roma Piazza di Siena, taking place at 12:30 PM in the traditional arena of Rome’s Villa Borghese.
The prestigious class will be held as a two-round competition under Table A rules at 1.60m, designed by renowned Italian course designer Uliano Vezzani.
Qualification for the Rolex Gran Premio Roma will be determined through the following competitions:
COMPETITION N.5 – NATIONS CUP INTESA SANPAOLO
Two rounds competition – 1.60m
The 22 best-placed team riders according to penalties and time from the first round will qualify for the Rolex Gran Premio Roma.
COMPETITION N.4
Against the clock competition – Table A – 1.55m
The 10 best individual riders will qualify for the Rolex Gran Premio Roma.
COMPETITION N.3
Against the clock competition – Table A – 1.50m
The 5 best-placed athletes, excluding those already qualified through Competitions N. 4 and N. 5, will qualify for the Rolex Gran Premio Roma
COMPETITION N.7
Against the clock + jump-off competition – 1.55m
The remaining quota to reach 45 qualified athletes will be completed through this competition, excluding riders already qualified.
Prequalified athletes who do not qualify through Competitions N.4, N.5 or N.3 will be taken into account before selecting additional riders from Competition N. 7 to complete the final field of 45 athletes.
