Born in Warendorf, Rhineland, it was there that he chose to devote his life to horses. After growing up on soccer pitches and in show jumping competitions with his father, he graduated from business school and entered the highly competitive world of equestrian sports in Germany. Fascinated by Ludger Beerbaum in his youth, he became his right-hand man over the years. In 2012, he joined the Riesenbeck stable as a trainer of young horses and quickly progressed to become one of the team's key figures. With horses such as Limonchello NT, Colestus, Chianti's Champion, Cool Down 7, Nice van't Zorgvliet, Mumbai van de Moerhoeve and Checker 47, he has enjoyed some of the greatest successes of his career. Christian won his first 5* Grand Prix in Rome in 2022, after taking part in his first senior championship at the European Championships in Riesenbeck in 2021. At this competition, he returned with a team silver medal and fourth place in the individual event. In 2023, he took part in the continental championships in Milan as a reserve. That same year, he made his debut in the World Cup final in Leipzig and helped Germany to victory in the Nations Cup final in Barcelona. He went on to win three 3* Grand Prix with the excellent Checker in Riyadh, Wellington and Madrid. Christian Kukuk has turned his passion for horses into an exceptional career, rising to become one of the top riders in international show jumping thanks to his talent and determination.
