Koen Vereecke came into horses at a very young age. At 7 he mounted his first competitions with the Picador and Silver ponies. The family business which began as a breeding farm is today a high-level sports stables. During his teenage years, Koen mainly focused on training young horses and competed with his father's stallions in the young horse cycle. Koen spent a year in France, where he completed an internship with rider Eric Navet. He then worked for two years with Rik Hemeryck at the Haras de Laubry stables. In 1999, Koen established his own commercial stable and began to focus more on national and international competitions.
