Martin Fuchs comes from the finest show jumping pedigree: his parents competed at international level, while his uncle Markus won a silver medal at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. After beginning to ride at age seven, the Swiss rider quickly followed in the family tradition, making a name for himself in junior ranks. He first rose to international prominence in 2010, winning team gold at the inaugural Summer Youth Olympics in Singapore.
Since then, Fuchs has firmly established himself among the sport’s elite, claiming multiple CSI5* Grand Prix titles, along with individual silver medals at the 2018 FEI World Equestrian Games™ and the 2019 FEI Jumping World Cup™ Final, as well as a gold medal at the 2019 FEI European Championships. In 2019, he won the Rolex Grand Prix at the CHI Geneva, a victory that elevated him to World No. 1 at the start of 2020. The following year, Fuchs became the first rider in history to win successive editions of the Rolex Grand Prix at the CHI Geneva. He also secured individual silver and team gold medals at the FEI European Championships.
Fuchs’ exceptional form continued into 2022 and 2023, with key victories including the CPKC ‘International’ Grand Prix, presented by Rolex, at the CSIO5* Spruce Meadows ‘Masters’ Tournament. In 2024, he added a Rolex Series Grand Prix victory in Dublin aboard Connor Jei and claimed another major Grand Prix win at Spruce Meadows, again in the CPKC ‘International’ presented by Rolex, riding Leone Jei.
In 2025, Fuchs reached another career milestone: on 6 July, he and Leone Jei triumphed in the prestigious Rolex Grand Prix at the CHIO Aachen, one of the major events of the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping, with €1,500,000 in prize money. These performances further cement his status among the world’s top show jumpers and highlight his remarkable consistency at the highest level of the sport.
