Mathieu Billot comes from Normandy and a family deeply involved in equestrian sport. He began riding at a young age and quickly stood out on the youth circuit, notably becoming European Junior Champion in 2002, a result that marked the beginning of his international career.
Among his best international achievements are several Grand Prix victories and podium finishes at CSI4* and CSI5* level. In 2026, he claimed a major victory at the Saut Hermès at the Grand Palais, winning the CSI5* 1.50 m Grand Prix with Cosacara Z against a strong international field. He has also secured several victories on the French and European circuits, notably in Deauville and Saint-Lô.
