Among the world’s leading show jumpers, Max Kühner is also an accomplished businessman and a deeply committed sportsman who has served as a riders’ spokesperson for the International Equestrian Federation (FEI). Currently based in Germany, where he established MK Sporthorses in Starnberg, he previously represented Germany at international level before choosing to compete for Austria from the beginning of 2015.
Explaining his decision at the time, Kühner highlighted his strong personal and sporting ties to Austria, where he had lived for many years and taken his first steps in the sport. Competing for Austria marked a new chapter in an already distinguished international career.
His record is impressive, including multiple appearances in the IJRC Top 10 Final and victory in the Rolex Grand Prix of ’s-Hertogenbosch in 2021. Since then, Max Kühner has continued to deliver top-level performances on the world’s most prestigious stages. In 2022, he claimed victory in the Grand Prix of Monaco with EIC Coriolis des Isles. The following year, he won the Rolex Grand Prix of Dinard aboard Elektric Blue P, and also secured victory in the Grand Prix of Basel with EIC Cooley Jump the Q. In 2024, he added another major success to his record by winning the Grand Prix of St-Tropez with EIC Up Too Jacco Blue.
His consistency at the very highest level is further reflected in a series of strong results at Rolex Series events. With Elektric Blue P, he finished ninth in the Rolex Grand Prix of La Baule and 2nd in the Rolex Grand Prix of Rome in 2024. Riding EIC Cooley Jump the Q, he placed 3rd in the Rolex Grand Prix of Dinard in 2024. More recently, aboard EIC Daloubet, he continued to feature prominently with 7th place in Dinard and 6th place in Falsterbo in 2025.
Through his longevity, versatility and sustained excellence, Max Kühner remains one of the most respected and consistent figures in international show jumping.
