William Whitaker is a member of the famous Whitaker dynasty, one of the most iconic families in international equestrian sport. The son of Ian Whitaker and nephew of John, Michael, and Steven Whitaker, William grew up surrounded by top-level competition and quickly established himself as one of the leading figures of the new generation of British riders.
Among his greatest achievements is his participation at the 2018 FEI World Equestrian Games with Utamaro d'Ecaussines, where Great Britain finished 8th in the team competition. He also represented his country at the 2017 European Show Jumping Championships with the same horse and later at the 2021 European Show Jumping Championships with Galtur.
On the international circuit, William Whitaker has won several prestigious Grand Prix classes, including World Cup qualifiers with Utamaro d'Ecaussines, the horse with whom he established himself at the highest level of the sport. More recently, he has continued to perform successfully in CSI4* and CSI5* competitions with horses such as Millfield Quickstep and Flamboyant III, regularly achieving placings in classes up to 1.60 m.
Combining a remarkable family legacy, championship experience, and success in international Grand Prix competitions, he continues the Whitaker family's tradition of excellence on some of the world's most prestigious arenas.
