Press conference the 2025 Jumping International de La Baule - officiel de France

La Baule, France – April 29, 2025

The official press conference for the 2025 Jumping International de La Baule was held this Tuesday, April 29, at the Barrière L’Hermitage Hotel, launching what promises to be one of the most anticipated events on the international show jumping calendar. As a historic competition and now a key event of the Rolex Series, La Baule continues to shine thanks to its ambitious sporting goals, loyal public, and ongoing commitment to excellence.

A Strategic Event of the Rolex Series

Since joining the prestigious Rolex Series in 2024, the Jumping de La Baule has gained a new level of global visibility, as highlighted by event president Pierre de Brissac:

“The Rolex Series allows us to raise the ambitions of our event: excellence, innovation, and continuity. It enables us to reach far beyond our borders, with year-round communication and a permanent commitment to quality.”

Now part of an elite international circuit that includes iconic events such as Dublin, Falsterbo, and Wellington, La Baule reflects Rolex’s core values: precision, performance, and tradition. The competition offers the world’s best riders an exceptional venue in the legendary Stade François André.

A Showcase for Team France Ahead of Aachen 2026

With the FEI World Championships in Aachen 2026 on the horizon, La Baule serves as a critical benchmark for the French national team. Sophie Dubourg, National Technical Director of the French Equestrian Federation, emphasized:

“La Baule is an essential dress rehearsal. We will field 18 French riders this year, with a team that blends youth and experience. Everyone wants to be part of it.”

Names like Jeanne Sadran, Nina Mallevaey, and Julien Épaillard (still to be confirmed) are already mentioned. After finishing second in 2024, France has its sights set firmly on winning the Nations Cup.

A World-Class Sporting Program

The 2025 edition promises a spectacular weekend, combining elite sport with iconic moments. Three major highlights will mark the event:

Friday, 1:30 PM: Barrière Nations Cup – featuring 9 national teams (FRA, GER, BEL, USA, GBR, IRL, ITA, SWE, SUI)

Saturday, 2:00 PM: Derby de la Demeure des Campagnes – a unique class with a renewed course and new obstacles

Sunday, 2:00 PM: Rolex Grand Prix – Ville de La Baule – the weekend’s headline event

A City and Its Partners Behind the Event

For Franck Louvrier, Mayor of La Baule, the Jumping is far more than a sporting event:

“Horses are part of La Baule’s DNA. It’s a moment of local pride, yet with global reach.”

With over 45,000 spectators in 2024, the event remains free and open to the public, reflecting its inclusive spirit. Special attention is also given to horse welfare, notably through the continued tradition of morning access to the beach, which has become a symbol of the event’s values.

This new edition marks another step forward in the evolution of La Baule within the Rolex Series. Here, sport, tradition, and innovation come together to write a new chapter in equestrian excellence.
