Born in 1975, he began riding at the age of 8 at the Turin horse racing stables. He participated in 3 European Junior Championships and 2 European Young Rider Championships. Since 1996 he has worn the uniform of the Carabinieri. To date, he has around 50 Senior Nations Cups under his belt, making him one of the strong points of the Italian team. He participated twice in the European Senior Championships and in a World Championship, always reaching the individual final of the international events. Massimo three times in the World Cup of Nations finals and was a member of the team that qualified for the Athens Olympics. Riding Lazzaro delle Schiave, an Italian horse he raised, in 2019 he qualified tenth overall at the Rolex Calgary Grand Prix and qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
