Peder Fredricson

  • Sweden Sweden

Born into a family steeped in the equestrian world, Peder Fredricson began riding at the age of five. His father, Ingvar, is a veterinary surgeon as well as the manager of Flyinge, Sweden's largest breeding centre. His brother, Jens, is also a member of the Swedish show jumping team.
After qualifying for his first Olympic Games in eventing at the age of twenty, the Swede became a pillar of the Swedish show jumping team. With the team, he won silver at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, where he also finished fourth in the individual event. Twelve years later, in the summer of 2016 in Rio, he took silver in the individual event, being the only rider not to make a single fault in six rounds, thanks to his fabulous H&M*All In de Vinck, the horse of his career. They both repeated the feat at the Tokyo Games in 2021, taking individual silver and team gold, four years after becoming European champions on home soil in Gothenburg. Peder Fredricson picked up a number of other distinctions, including bronze at the European Championships in Riesenbeck in 2021, and two third places in the World Cup final, to which Catch Me Not S, an atypical son of Cardento, contributed on each occasion.
